Steering Committee

A Steering Committee was set up by the Martha's Vineyard Commission to oversee both the content and the process of the plan (see the document Steering Committee Description). It is responsible for:

Overarching, interdisciplinary vision, goals, and strategies.
Identification and analysis of major alternatives.
Coordination of interdependencies and trade-offs between topic areas.
Finalize the planning documents and recommend them for adoption to the Martha's Vineyard Commission.

	Tom Chase Chair, Membership Subcommittee Eastern Massachusetts Programs Director for The Nature Conservancy. Lives in Oak Bluffs.
	Ann Floyd Owner/principal broker of Sandcastle Realty. Member of the Board of the Martha's Vineyard Chamber of Commerce. Lives in Edgartown.
	Ray Laporte Vice-President of Advest Financial Advisors. Former member of the Tisbury Board Selectman. Lives in Tisbury.
	Ned Orleans Member of the Martha's Vineyard Commission. Former member of the Tisbury Planning Board. Lives in Tisbury.
	Kerry Scott Proprietor of Good Dog Goods. Member of the Oak Bluffs Board of Selectman. A life-long Oak Bluffs resident.
	Linda Sibley Owner of Vineyard Electronics (Radio Shack). Chair of the Martha's Vineyard Commission. Lives in West Tisbury.
	Elio Silva Owner of North Star, a Brazilian specialty department store in Edgartown. Lives in Oak Bluffs.
	Russell Smith Engineer. Legislative Liaison for Martha's Vineyard. Lives in Aquinnah.
	Bret Stearns Director of Natural Resources for the Wampanoag Tribe. Lives in Chilmark.
	Henry Stephenson Planner/architect. Member of the Tisbury Planning Board. Lives in Tisbury.
	Paul Strauss County Commissioner. Member of the Martha's Vineyard Commission. Lives in Oak Bluffs.
	Richard Toole Carpenter/ caretaker. Former Chair of the Martha's Vineyard Commission. Lives in Oak Bluffs.
